This class is for those who are  60+ or who find other classes too challenging. You will learn elementary Asana slowly and thoroughly in a calm and supportive environment. This class is ideal for those who feel their bodies are stiff or less flexible than formerly.

$15 casual

$10 for pensioners

*Level 1 class for raw beginners, Wednesdays at 5.30-7pm. If you are new to Yoga, this class is for you!


  1. *Queens Birthday Monday 4th June - one class only at 9.30-11am.  All levels welcome !

  2. *The Centre is closed for normal classes Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of August due to teacher assessments.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please try to make up for lost class during the week.

Ours is a  friendly and supportive  Centre where our teachers guide you in your practice whether you are new to Iyengar Yoga or have practiced elsewhere.


The Iyengar Yoga Centre was first established in 1994 by our Principal and Director Monica Haar, Cert. Advanced Junior 2 Teacher.

Our teachers are trained in accordance with BKS Iyengar’s teachings, and most hold or are working towards obtaining the Internationally recognised certification Mark

IYC will start a teacher training program 2018

The program will run for 3 years and is designed for local residents who have been regular students at IYC for at least 3 years and are interested in putting time into becoming a teacher of Yoga at IYC.
